Clinical Trials And Noteworthy Treatment For Brain Tumors
Issue #42 8/19/01

- It's vacation time! I will be taking off an entire week (first time I took a whole week off since this started back in 1993!) So our office will be closed until Monday Aug 27. If you need to be removed from any of our publications, just follow the directions in each message for unsubscribing. (I know that sounds obvious - but I get about 10 messages a day asking how to do it:) I probably will not have regular email access, so most messages will have to wait until I get back. If something is important, put URGENT in the subject, and I will read those first.
- There is going to be a brain tumor conference for patients, family and friends in New Jersey on October 26 and 27th. For details, go to tbts.org website and click on conferences. It is being run by the Central New Jersey Brain Tumor Support Group and the Brain Tumor Society. I will be there. There is no charge, but you have to register as space is limited.
- Update on my brother-in-law: He had a surgery last week to have a benign pituitary tumor removed. He is doing very well. Thanks for all of the notes of support.
- We are trying to expand our video library. One thought that I had was to create a video for the newly diagnosed brain tumor patient, similar to our guide for the newly diagnosed - which is on our website at virtualtrials.com. It would be like a mini-course in braintumors. Explain what brain tumors are, what the types of treatment and tests are, show some success stories, etc. I need some volunteers to help out with the entire project. Let me know if you are interested (I won't return messages until I get back a week from Monday!)
