Millennium says 27 new trials set for cancer drug (Reuters Securities)...The drug is the first of a new class of cancer medicines meant to work by inhibiting the so-called proteazome enzyme, a naturally occurring enzyme that tumor cells may depend upon for their uncontrolled growth.......taken in combination with other chemotherapy agents, had shrunken colon and pancreas tumors by over 80 percent in trials with rodents that had been grafted with human cancers.......~~~ in Phase I and Phase II human trials against cancers of the breast, head and neck, lung, brain, melanomas and other types of tumors....- May 03 5:30 PM ET
