'Brain Tumors and Your Family' workshop added to the 'Sharing Hope: Tumor Talk' patient conferene in Florida, Jan 19-21
In addition to the published program for the 8th Annual "Sharing Hope: Tumor Talk" conference in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida (Jan. 19-21, 2007), there will be another workshop available in conjunction with this event.
During the 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Dinner Break on Friday, January 19, participants can choose to register for an interactive workshop entitled "Brain Tumors and Your Family" which is being presented by Trisha Williams, RN and Nancy Conn-Levin, MA (two brain tumor survivors and well known support group facilitators). A light meal will be provided, along with opportunities to improve communication among family members about brain tumor related topics. During a portion of the workshop, participants will be divided into two groups (brain tumor survivors and family members/friends), to allow each group to discuss their specific concerns more freely. These comments will later be anonymously shared with all of the workshop participants, offering a more comfortable way to discuss some of the challenging issues related to brain tumors.
This workshop is being offered at no cost, although a $20 deposit per person is requested to reserve a place. Registration is limited, to ensure that everyone has a chance to actively participate. Deposit checks are payable to FBTA. At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will be able to have their deposit returned or they can choose to donate it to the Florida Brain Tumor Association.
If you would like to be a part of this lively workshop on January 19, please send an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
. You will then receive the workshop registration form, which can be returned by mail with your refundable deposit.
FBTA's annual conferences, which alternate between Tampa and Ft. Lauderdale each year, are always a highlight for the brain tumor community. For more information about the overall conference, visit www.fbta.info
