Swingtime Raises Over $100,000 for the Tim & Tom Gullikson Foundation Annual Event Featured Andy Roddick, Chris Evert and Top Celebrities

(West Palm Beach, Florida) – Swingtime--A Pro-Celebrity Pro-Am Tennis & Golf Tournament--Benefiting the Tim & Tom Gullikson Foundation raised over $100,000 for the Foundation’s mission to assist brain-tumor patients and their families by funding care and support programs. The benefit was held at Ibis Golf & Country Club in West Palm Beach, Florida on December 14-15, and featured a Tennis Pro-Am, Tennis Exhibition, Dinner Party and Golf Tournament.

Celebrity participants who joined Event Host Tom Gullikson for this fourth annual event included tennis stars Andy Roddick, Chris Evert, Jim Courier, Todd Martin, Stan Smith, LPGA professional Michelle McGann, NFL Hall of Famer Paul Warfield, Olympic track legend Bob Beamon, pop singer and actress Mandy Moore, retired baseball star Gary Carter and CBS Sports’ Brett Haber.

"Each year Swingtime raises more money for the Foundation and attracts celebrities and sponsors from all over the country who make the event such a success," said Event Host and Foundation Chairman Tom Gullikson.

The event began with 36 amateurs joining the celebrities for a round-robin Tennis Pro-Am, which was followed by four exhibition matches. The results of the matches were as follows:

Later that evening Haber served as Master of Ceremonies for the Dinner Party, which was sponsored by Custer & Jefferson and featured swing dancers, live swing music, a silent and live auction and the opportunity to mix with all of the celebrity participants. Auction items included a chance to visit the set of the television program "Friends," have retired New York Met Keith Hernandez coach your child’s Little League team, original artwork from Sal Principe, jewelry donated by Jennifer Capriati and numerous vacations.

The following morning, 28 foursomes joined by celebrity participants squared off for the Golf Tournament on Ibis’ Heritage course. The tournament was won by the Nike team, led by Nike’s Director of US Tennis Sports Marketing Mike Nakajima and joined by LPGA professional Michelle McGann.

The Tim & Tom Gullikson Foundation was founded in 1995 by Tim Gullikson, former tennis professional and coach of Pete Sampras, and his identical twin brother, Tom Gullikson, a former tennis professional, coach and captain of the United States Davis Cup team. Tim was diagnosed with brain tumors in 1995 and lost his battle with the illness in 1996 at the age of 44.

Swingtime is managed by C & H Events of Boca Raton. The official host sponsor is Ibis Golf & Country Club. Custer & Jefferson is the host sponsor of the Saturday Evening Dinner Party.
