UNIQUE GREETING CARDS TAKE ON NEW MEANING IN THE ERA OF COVID-19

Al Musella's Comments: (This is his personal views and are not necessarily the views of the Musella Foundation!)

This is a new type of greeting card that can be hung on a wall - like in a hospital - then easily removed and reused.

There is a discount code in the press release and they will donate to the Musella Foundation when you use that code!

UNIQUE GREETING CARDS TAKE ON NEW MEANING IN THE ERA OF COVID-19

Sister-in-laws Karen and Sheri Wolfe both found themselves with aging parents in hospitals or elder-care facilities. They noticed how dreary many of the rooms were, how often the hospital patients had to move and how many of the elder-care residents rarely received visitors.

That experience inspired them to create StickeGreets, a large-format greeting card that can be customized with personal photos and text and which safely sticks to any flat surface. When they launched the company in late January, they had no way of predicting a world of social-distancing in the age of COVID-19.

“Today, we’re all missing our extended family, friends, co-workers and classmates,” says Karen, who runs the company’s Florida office. “StickeGreets is a fun way to reach out and say ‘I’m thinking of you!’ while we’re all confined to our individual homes.”

They’re especially sensitive to the plight of seniors living in elder-care facilities, which have not allowed visitors since the early days of the outbreak. “Many of them are going on more than a month without seeing their children, grandchildren or friends,” says Sheri, who works from their Chicago office. “I know it’s so hard on both the seniors and their families. We hope that a StickeGreet will help in a small way.”

As the COVID-19 crisis began to spread, Sheri and Karen decided they wanted to do something quickly to help out. They’ve been donating batches of StickeGreets to hospitals and elder-care facilities in Chicago, Florida and San Diego and have received an outpouring of gratitude from the facilities. “We know what those places are going through and wanted to brighten up their rooms and hallways.”

The cards come in three sizes, can be customized in a matter of minutes and get delivered in a confetti-filled festive box. The cards stick to any wall or flat surface and can be moved without causing any damage. The on-line store also includes numerous ready-to-go StickeGreets featuring work from well-known artists.

A true family business, Karen and Sheri have also added their young adult daughters to the team. Sheri’s daughter Jamie manages the team’s marketing and Karen’s daughter Layne oversees distribution.

“From the very beginning, this has been a project of love,” Sheri says. “And that’s truer than ever now.”
We feel incredibly fortunate to have graphic designer Linda Singer on our team. Linda has been with us from the start and designs most of our cards. She shares our commitment to sharing joy through each StickeGreet.

“Designing for StickeGreets has become my passion.” Linda says. "I worked on the first StickeGreet for Sheri’s dad when he was ill, and immediately understood the power of combining photos, personal text and the card itself. With each StickeGreet we make, we know we’re brightening someone’s day.

StickeGreets wants to give back. Customers using the code Musella20 will receive 20% off their purchase and 5% will be donated to the Musella Foundation for Brain Tumor Research.

“We’re all going through this crazy time together.” Karen adds. “We just hope our little idea brings some big joy to the people who need it most.”
