Drs. Javad Nazarian (Children's National Medical Center), Eric Raabe (Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine) and Kathy Warren (National Cancer Institute) have formed the Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma Consortium (DIPGC) to share specimen and resources for understanding the biology of pediatric DIPGs and brainstem gliomas (BSGs). The purpose of the DIPGC Research Fund is to provide support for the ongoing research conducted at the laboratories of Drs. Nazarian and Raabe.
Our research includes:
- Molecular analysis of tumor and normal brain specimens for biomarker identification
- Generation of preclinical models using genetic engineering and generating xenograft models using tumor specimens
- Development of a biobank including tumor, serum, urine and CSF specimens
