Prior Surgery is Allowed Prior Radiation is Allowed Prior Chemotherapy is Allowed Patients must have a recurrent glioblastoma or anaplastic glioma that is histologically confirmed either by the previous biopsy or resection, or at the time of re-operation.
Patients must have received prior external beam radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy unless patients refused the options.
Patients must be HLA-A2 positive, which can be determined in our screening process. |

Comments: |

This is a novel glioma-vaccine trial that incorporates the following recent laboratory discoveries from our own laboratory:
1) Use of novel alpha DC1 – these DCs are at least 40 times more potent than conventional DCs in their ability to induce anti-tumor T-cell response
2) Use of novel synthetic peptides designed from 4 glioma associated antigens – as all cancers are heterogeneous in their antigen expression profile, targeting single antigens in vaccines may result in outgrowth of tumor cells that have lost the expression of the targeted antigen. In our trial, by targeting 4 antigens, we aim to induce effective immune response against antigens that are expressed in most glioma tissues and cells.
