Conditions: |

Prior Surgery is Allowed Prior Radiation is Allowed Prior Chemotherapy is Allowed Primary supratentorial or infratentorial brain tumor of one the following histologies: Astrocytoma Ependymoma Medulloblastoma.
Tumor unresectable and progressive or recurrent following standard therapy, including radiotherapy.
Nondisseminated disease measurable as a single localized mass on CT or MRI.
Negative cerebrospinal fluid required.
No prior brachytherapy. |

Photosensitization followed by Light Therapy plus Surgery (as feasible). DHE (Porfimer Sodium); followed by a KTP-pumped dye laser (wavelength 630 nm) delivered to the tumor using 0.5- to 2.0-cm cylindrical diffusers (200 mW/cm) or to the resection cavity via a balloon catheter (50 mW/sqcm); plus maximum feasible tumor debulking.
