(0.9017)   My husband~s last Mri was good and stable. The tumor is almost nonexistant and the swelling is almost gone. We have been decreasing to almost nothing and now seeing problems again. Messing up words, headaches, and now a little vision problems. Is this all due to swelling or could be more--tumor growth this soon after good MRI? The swelling has been common--but never the vision problems. Tumor is in temporal lobe!

(0.8660)   My mother has a history of migraine headaches. Now, at 50 years old and suffering from pre-menopause symptoms, her migrianes have gotten worse. Could this be a symptom ofa brain tumor or is it one of the pre-menopause symptoms.

(0.8658)   My mother is in her early fifties and was diagnosed with a GBM in late 2005. She immediately had surgery and did radiation and Temodar. The tumor grew back and she had a second surgery in Spring, 2006 and BCNU. It is now about 18 months since diagnosis, and her last MRI said there was no growth (i.e., tumor is static). She stopped the BCNU months ago because of side effects and now is on a new chemo. I don't know the name of it but it cannot be physically touched by anyone healthy (pills). I am concerned because her symptoms are so much worse. Her vision loss is greater, and now she is often falling and usually needs a wheelchair. A lot of times she slurs words or gives really strange responses to questions (example: dr. asked something about her symptoms and she said ~~oh, I haven~t worked there in years!~~). She never had these symptoms until a few months ago. Is she doing better? Is it the tumor causing the symptoms?

(0.8658)   My husband died of a brain tumor in 2002 (anaplastic astrocytoma - left frontal lobe). He had symptoms for a long time and we did not realize it was a brain tumor until the tumor began to bleed and caused stroke-like symptoms. How long can a brain tumor remain dormant? His headaches started in the late 1980's and his doctor did a CT scan that was inconclusive. The doctor suggested an MRI but the insurer would not pay for the procedure; the conclusion was stress was causing the headaches. In the early 1990's, the headaches continued and he began having other symptoms that we did not attribute to the headaches (projectile vomiting, loss of bowel and bladder control). These other symptoms were occasional and we thought it was something he ate. In 1993, after my sister died of cancer, we began taking an herbal tea (essiac) to prevent cancer; my husband continued to take this tea up until his tumor began bleeding in 2001. Is it possible the tumor was there from 1988? Was it possible the tea helped to prolong his being able to live with the tumor being dormant? He still had the headaches, occasional bouts of loss of bladder and bowel control, vomiting, and short term memory loss. I know, obviously, if he had been diagnosed sooner he would have had a better chance of survival. But, was the tumor there as much as 10 or 15 years before it was found?

(0.8658)   My husband has GBM and has been doing very well. Since they say the brain feels no pain, what would be some of the signs he is starting to fail? He is on steroids and Temodar, 28-day cycle. When I ask the doctor, they just say he is doing well right now. I know you can not totally prepare yourself but what should I anticipate?

(0.8658)   After an episode of Jacksonian epilepsy in November last year, my 69-year-old father was diagnosed with a bain tumour in his right frontal region. He was operated on in December to remove the tumor, subsequent scans have shown the operation to be a success. My father commenced two weeks radiation treatment from January 29th until February 11th, 2003. He was taking Dexamethasone since surgery and was taken off this around the same time as his radiation treatment finished. He was also taking Dilantin from the time of his episode of Jacksonian epilepsy and was taken off this around 6 weeks ago. He has been off all medication for the past 6 weeks. About a month after finishing radiation treatment, he started feeling nauseous with occasional vomiting and a complete loss of appetite. These symptoms have continued for the past three months. He has been advised by his radiation specialists that these symptoms should not be related to the radiation treatment he had earlier this year. Recent blood tests and CT scans have failed to identify any cause for this nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite. The symptoms have now become so severe that my father cannot tolerate the smell of food and he has lost a substanial amount of weight. Do you think these symptoms could be related in any way to his surgery or radiation treatment? Can you give us any advise on what steps we should take next?

(0.8658)   My husband has had a headache for three weeks now. His memory has declined. His visual acuity has declined and is worse at night than in the day. His neck hurts and he can no longer do more than one thing at the time. He has had an MRI, lumbar puncture and CT Scan. All are normal. The neurologist did not order an opening pressure reading when the lumbar puncture was done although he did acknowledge that my husband had many neurological symptoms. Now he tells us he does not have a clue what is going on and that my husband may just have headaches like this forever. I cannot accept that. He has had headaches all of his life and his night vision, he says, has always been less clear than in the day. I think we need an opthamologist or another lumbar puncture with an opening pressure reading. Any advise?

(0.8512)   How can you tell if you have a brain tumor? What are some symptoms?

(0.8512)   What symptoms should I look for in a relapse of epenydmoma. My daughter was diagnosed in 1996, and had a partial resection and radiotherapy. Previously, her only symptom was vomitting in the morning (this was when it was the size of a golf ball). I would like to be more aware of any slight symptoms early enough. Tumor is located in the Cerebellum.

(0.8511)   Are there any symptoms of an aneurysm?

(0.8511)   Is dizziness a symptom of a brain tumor? I have experienced dizziness every once in awhile for the past few months. I do not have any other symptoms though, no headaches or numbness.

(0.8510)   What are the symptoms of a brain tumor?

(0.8510)   Besides a physician's diagnosis, how can you tell if a Craniopharyngioma is recurring? Are there any symptoms to be aware of? If recurrence is in progress, and steroids are being taken as prescribed, how quickly can this tumor produce?

(0.8510)   What are the symptoms of a brain tumor?

(0.8510)   Do you have any idea as to how long a person may have had a GBM prior to confirmation. My husband was only 48 years old when he passed away. Have studies not been done to determine this. Do all GBMs start out as a Grade IV or is it something that progresses over time? I have yet to find anything that states how long a person may have had a brain tumor. Someone needs to conduct a study and find out symptoms prior to being diagnosed because I can certainly tell someone the symptoms my husband had besides just the headache. Unfortunately, his ended up being an extremly severe headache, which prompted us to the MD first and then a day later to the ER because it was getting worse.

(0.8510)   I was diagnosed with a 12 mm pineal cyst and partial opacifacation of several right mastiod air cells especially posteromedially and superolaterally. I have several MS-like symptoms along with other symptoms that led me to the the MRI, but the neurologist said that these findingare not too significant. Meanwhile, I still have all my other symptoms. I am getting a second opinion in several weeks, but came across this site and thought it could not hurt to ask.

(0.8351)   I had a small tumor removed that was on the surface of my brain on the top of my head. I had the Gamma Knife. I was told there are no side effects. After the precedure I experienced very bad mood swings which have not stopped. I also had spent close to a year getting my hormone dosage in order; immediately after the gamma knife the hormone therapy no longer worked. Even my breasts becamse immediately painful and I have not been able to adjust back again. The first two weeks afterwards I was severly depressed. I was confused and groggy. Couldn~t concentrate or focus. Still not back to the way I was before and that was two and a half months ago. My family and friends have also noticed a dramatic change although ~~none of these symptoms are supposed to occur.~~ Have you heard of anyone else experiencing anything like this? It~s not that I want to think of any one else suffering; it would make me feel that at least what I am experiencing is normal. Thank you.

(0.8351)   What are the symptoms of a brain tumor intially? I had a CT scan 9 months ago and it was alright. Now my eyes are not stable for the last month. Should I go for another CT scan. Nothing else has happened.

(0.8351)   I am a 15-year-old boy and I am scheduled for a CT scan for a brain tumor in two months. I came across a type of brain tumor/cancer called a brain stem glioma. I have alot of the common symptoms, like my eyes have a weird feel; it's not the clarity of them but the feeling of JUST my eyes being dizzy and weak. Also, and for the first time, I had serious double vision. I sometimes get headaches, my limbs feel weak and sketchy, my face feels numb, my eye lids open automatically when I sleep, I feel very drowsy, and my head has a load of pressure on it. I was wondering if there are any other types of brain tumors or illnesses which mimic my symptoms because the survival rates of a brain stem glioma are very low. I was also wondering if an MRI scan shows it better, because one website had info on MRI scans for brain stem glioma.

(0.8351)   My father has a glioblastoma multiforme brain tumor. I have had a few questions hanging around in my head for awhile and no one has been able to answer them. I am wondering if you could answer a few of my questions. What this actually is. How it affects the body. What are the complications? How is it diagnosed? What are the symptoms? What is th treatment? Are there any lifestyle changes? Is there a plan that would help decrease your chances of contracting this?

(0.8351)   My sister passed away suddenly and the preliminary autospy report said that she likely had a malignant brain tumor in her frontal lobe. Her family doctor had been treating her for migraines for the past 1.5 years (pain medication). The doctor did not do a CT, MRI or x-ray. My sister's only other symptoms occurred in the last month of her death when it took her twice as long to get ready on some mornings. She had previously vomitted on a few occasions and sometimes complained of "foggy" head. On the day of her death, she vomitted, started to slur her words and eventually could not talk (she died in the emergency waiting room as the hospital did not admit her right away). Is it normal for a doctor to rule out a brain tumour with a CT or equivalent if migraine-type symptoms are brand new and there is no family history? My sister was 36 years old.

(0.8351)   I was told that I have regrowth of my astrocytoma, grade II. It is located on the right side of the thalamus so I was getting symptoms on the left side of my body. My question is: I am now getting the same symptoms on the right side, like my hand tingling and going numb. What do you think this could be?

(0.8351)   What are the main symptoms of a brain tumo?

(0.8351)   What is gliosarcoma? What are the typical symptoms, how it is diagnosed, how it is treated and how dangerous it is?

(0.8351)   Is it true that the most common symptom of an aneurysm is a pain over the right temple?
