  (0.8656)   My father was diagnosed with a benign Meningioma four years ago. He underwent brain surgery, gamma knife, radiation, chemotherapy, and clinical trial drugs. About three months ago, we found out that it turned into malignant, aggressive Meningioma. He just had two brain surgeries in the past 3 months and he is experiencing many problems. The tumors are so big they are growing out of his head. Plus, he had two blood clots in his brain, gets seizures, has memory loss, cannot walk, and a lot of other things. Now, the doctors saw some spots in his lungs and we will get the results of that soon. I just want someone to tell me why this happens. I want to know about the neurons, the cells, the dendrites, anything you can tell me that would make me understand how all this happens. I am 19 years old, and I would like to know if this could be passed to me and if I should go see a specialist or something.

  (0.8169)   Hi, I had a tumor reseructed on feb 11 2002. this tumor was a atipical meningioma. Though this was 100% removed the doctors say that it is better to have a radio surgery so that all the cells in this location will be killied. I am ready to go for this, But i am afraid of the side effects of this. I have heard that on the long run the part where the the brain was treated might get damaged. I had the tumor right above my speech part of the brain. I am afraid that my speech part might have this effect if i take up the radio surgery. After the surgery i was not able to speak due to swelling. But now i am able to speak abt 80% and i know that i will be fine in a few days. because i can see the changes in my speech. Will you please give your comments regarding the radio surgery.

Is this fairly normal, as the neurosurgeon asked us if he had had seizures immediately after surgery. He is being treated with antiseizure medication; however, his speech seems to be slurred and he repeats himself. Could that possibly be from medication, or is it from the seizure itself?
