  • Question: My husband recently underwent a surgery for Craniopharyngioma. The tumor was removed completely and the recent MRI shows no recurrence. But there is still a lot of hormonal imbalance. When will things fall back to normalcy? How long will he have to be on medications? His sugar levels are fluctuating alarmingly; is it because of the steroids he is taking?
  • Answer:06/06/2006
It is common to have pituitary disturbances after such a surgery. Some may normalize, others may not. An endocrinologist is often consulted to help in this matter.
