- Question: My niece was diagnosed with Anaplastic Astrocytoma two years ago. At that time, she had 2 brain surgeries and received radiation. Everything was going well until this past September when the tumor reoccured on both sides of the brain and was a GBM. She has undergone Temador and CPT11 and has also had a shunt put in to reduce swelling. Her last MRI showed no sign of the tumor; however, in the past week she has been experiencing shaking of her right arm and some in the left arm as well. No one has been able to explain this since she is not on any medicine that would make this happen. The first major tumor was on the right. Do you have an explanation?

It could be a late effect of radiation scarring. Many neurooncologists
would also get a repeat MRI scan with and without contrast. It could also
be a seizure. Being in the care of an expert can be helpful. Look up major
centers and experts at www.virtualtrials.com or website below.
