  • Question: Is it recommended for a woman, age 36, with Anaplastic Astrocytoma, who completed radiation and is now doing chemotherapy with Temodar, to have surgery to remove the brain tumor? Is there evidence that surgery prolongs life expectancy?
  • Answer:08/06/2004
The date suggests that maximal surgery, radiation, and PCV chemotherapy offers the best chances for cure. Temodar is an option but no long term data comparing its efficacy with PCV has been done.
